Worked on how to write effective body paragraphs for a literary analysis. Completed the assignment sheet to step 3. Your introduction should already be completed for the analysis question.
This story was published in 1948. Are there any cultural or historical events that Jackson might be commenting on here? Is "The Lottery" JUST a story about this particular time and place, or is Jackson trying to say something important about human nature? Listened to a portion of podcast on Morality and drafted an outline for Monday's assignment,. Please think about this writing piece over the weekend:
Write a description about a time when you were a victim of injustice OR when you were witness to an injustice. • The incident of injustice may have occurred within the school, home or local environment. •Your account should be in the form of a narrative essay or a mini short story. • You may choose to write from a first or third person perspective. The aim of this task is to explain the nature of the injustice and to bring to life the various emotions associated with the act of injustice. Listened to the RadioLab podcast, Adopted Couple V. Baby Girl and made notes on the various types and experiences of justice discussed in the program. Write a response:
What are your thoughts on the Baby Veronica case? How do you think justice would best be served? Why? How do you think that this case should be decided? You must JUSTIFY your response. So. We have our VERY EXCITING new topic, "The Pursuit of Justice". Today we looked at this Calvin and Hobbes cartoon and did a visual analysis of it, discussed possible solutions, and then, in 3-6 panels, continued the plot to resolution. How will Calvin solve his problem? How will Moe react?
Read and made notes on one of four articles discussing communication technology in preparation for the essay on communication technology, which we will draft on Monday.
1. Are gadgets ruining our kids brains? 2. The dumbest generation? No, twitter is making kids smarter 3. Portrait of an e-family: How they're making their hyper-digital lives work 4. Twitter's roiling stew of rage and snark is good for society Make sure you have read at least one of the articles and be prepared to summarize and share its key points on Monday. Your first letter essay is DUE NEXT WEEK! Do not leave it until the last minute! You will find the outline and samples over here ------------>
